New Tower & New Groups

I was wondering with the new tower near Polaris, does this mean a new control channel? And that tower seems to be licensed for less channels.

Now in Westerville I did get an excellent signal even downstairs.

Also, while in Columbus I heard 10551 and it is not listed anywhere.

No, the new tower installation should be completely transparent to the scanner listener and system users (aside from better coverage, of course). The Columbus system uses "simulcasting". This means, in simple terms, that all of the towers broadcast all system frequencies.

I thought I read (on here) that the new tower was going in service in November or something like that. But I don't remember for sure, and I don't have any "inside" information.
