Hi DC31,

Thanks so much for the help! I thought that the numbers scrolling by, all ending in .0 were in error, but of course, I have no idea what any of those numbers are...but, I'll get there!

Glad you liked the Fire Museum - it is pretty cool!

Regards, Rob

Okay - I had done that already but I don't see the .exe in there now just the other files. Strange. I will try it again. Just the .exe or all the associated files moved into the TDD root as well? Sorry may sound like a dumb question... The wav is sending a lot faster at the station than at work so that was defiantly part of the issue. If I can get it sending the mp3 it will be really quick.

I will update shortly - thanks Andy

Thank for the help - program is working great with straight email and Telus (Canada) mms. However has anyone here got it to work for Rogers Canada or Bell Mobility Canada?

I can't seem to find a mms address that works for either. Even had the FD guy call Rogers tech support and they had no clue lol

number@mms.rogers.com doesn't work.
Bell sends the text but says the "file" has been stripped out.

Thanks

I'm using this system in canada as well and have been using number@pcs.rogers.com with no problems.

okay - i will try again. maybe it is just a setting on this persons phone. I haven't tried anyone else with rogers on the department.

Thanks

I had an issue with Verizon phone numbers take the number@pcs.rogers.com go into your alert email if your using gmail go in to that and send an email from your alert email to number@pcs.rogers.com and have the person directly reply back to the text he/she received this will secure the person in your email as a contact and not be treated like spam.

Version updates

Is there somewhere that lists what features or fixes are added to each version? I don't update our software very often. If its working, why fix it type of thing. But if there are new features that benefit us it would be nice to see what they are easily.

Over the last week I have been experimenting with rogers and it seems that number@sms.rogers.com seems to work better than number@pcs.rogers.com

Also, has anyone ever had problems with Virgin in Canada? I'm using number@vmobile.ca and cannot get it to work at all, have tried the American version to number@vmobil.com, Any suggestions?

Is it possible to take the recorded audio file and upload somewhere to retrieve with a short link or something so a simple text can be sent? Texts on Smartphones seem to always work great but older dumb phones never seem to be able to retrieve the mp3 when sent as text or email.

So basically page is received and recorded txt message is sent with a link to play the last audio file recorded? I saw somewhere where a user was posting to twitter and facebook, but I would like just a simple link to follow to play the last recording, obviously audio file would have to be uploaded to a server or some kind of hosting service.....

Thanks

If you want to send me a private message, I could get you signed up as a beta tester for the system that I am developing that does exactly what you are asking for.

Thanks

I"ve been using this for years and it's been great. I currently have 2 instances of the program running on one machine, using different channels soundcards, radios and so on.

One channels works just fine. No problems other than other distant bases stepping on and covering dispatch tones. Add in a combination of UPS, generator, and automated reboots and its been an amazing system.

The problem is one other channel. It always trips fine, but recently it won't record audio half the time. It always records and sends a file, but its void of audio. I use the setting to ignore the second tone, as they send it twice.

Any idea?

Try increasing the audio from the radio/scanner or whatever is feeding instance 2. Try reducing the audio threshold setting in the configuration for instance 2. It appears that the tones are being transmitted at a level that exceeds the threshold but not the voice. This is not uncommon.

This is one service E-Dispatch offers, which is used by many departments in my area. (Mine included, which is why I have not set up a TTD system.)

TTD can do this very easily by triggering a script after recording is done. That script can be set up to do any number of things...upload the file to a web server, google drive, send a twitter message, whatever. If anyone needs a server to upload their files to let me know, I can probably make some space available on twotonedetect.net for a nominal fee. There are lots of free options out there though.

Going to try this again. Used to be, in order to post to Facebook, you would just have to send a message to your facebook uploading email. Then they stopped that. Is anybody doing this now? Have you come up with any way to auto load to a FB page?
