I'm operating on a windows XP laptop, with a radio shack PRO-2017 desktop scanner that has a aux jack cable tied into the microphone input on the laptop.
I mainly am having trouble with making sure everything is correct to what is needed to make the recording happen and tied into audioboom. I'm not exactly sure what to set the delay recording time, and etc. Already have had a few calls but not being recorded even though I set up the tone numbers. Having difficulty understanding all that needs to be put in to make the whole thing function without me being at the computer at all times.

Start by running the debug version of the program. When unzipped it two .exe files were created. Run the debug one so you can see error messages on the screen.

Here is a tone set, Atone is 757 and Btone is 1000:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9sLdBjMInCVa0ZsekFERDRobVU

Play that tone set on your iPhone, iPod, Droid, or whatever with the audio cable connected from the earbud jack to your computer. (Device volume way up) This should cause numbers to scroll by. Once you have the numbers scrolling by, put those tones in as a tone set. Good places to start are delay = 0, Atonelength=0.6, Btonelength=0.6.

Then let us know what error messages you get.

The debug stuff was working and reading the numbers. The error was email related. Such as can't send email in any of the formats such as mp3 or AMR. one of the links was rlated to this --> http://google.support couldn't get it all as the screen would expand very much.

Has anybody tried using TTD on a Windows 10 Machine? I have mine running on a Windows 7 Pro machine and thinking about letting it do the free upgrade to 10, but would like to know if TTD will have any problems with 10?

Update to my last: although it appears to be working, I noticed that the "Tone Frequency" does not change now regardless of what I set the "audio squelch level" to. It stays at No Audio.

All,

I have two installations of this running, one at home which was a test system and one I implemented at my Fire Dept. I have the configurations pretty much the same and I am having an issue where the record time is not registering (or not stopping).

My recording is 1:21 (with I believe a 6 second delay). I had one suggestion earlier to lower the squelch to 200, I did that and I had no audio at all come over the program.

This long recording is causing issues with sending the MMS to AT&T and T-Mobile users as those systems reject the messages as to long and do not send the attachment.

I can continue to mess with the squelch, but any other reasons this would occur?

I do note what appears to be carrier noise after the talking (which may be what I am picking up). I have a scanner hooked up with PL Tones, I do not see audio noise in the system when Idle, but, I could always try turning down the mic input volume.....

OK - so a brief update...I went to the system today and found I had a hum on the scanner/input. I turned down the mic input and so far not hearing the hum. Through TTD I was able to see the numbers moving during communications, which makes me believe that it is still receiving (as perplexed as I was).

Outside of a tone out before 1800, I will have to see what happens tonight. Hopefully I get the 1800 hour test or I have failed...if I get the pages and the audio is 30 seconds... then I have passed!

The snippet you have posted shows that a Duffy EMS tone was decoded, but the failure is for a Flanagan EMS tone decode. Did the emails go out for the Duffy call? Or did that one fail also? It appears that the program is having difficulty reading the list of email addresses. Check the Flanagan email list for any mistakes, incorrect formatting, etc. that might be causing it to fail.

Those Damn Tars!!!!!

Yes, you are at a spot where it gets tricky. Most have given up before now! Try downloading the file from google docs to your regular computer. Copy it to a usb stick, plug that into the pi, then get to the pi desktop (gui), open file manager there, and copy the file from your stick to the folder that you want. Then back to the command line and the tar command. I also find that Filezilla works well to transfer files.

How about moving this discussion to the TTD on a Raspberry P forum thread so we don't bore the Windows users?

Easiest way I found is to use startx, and through interent in gui download them. Use the file manager to move them to whatever folder you need. Then go back to scripting the unpack. Much faster.

Pulse Audio is Killing Me

So I had TTD working on my Pi for 4 months. Now it doesnt' work. The last two weeks I've learned a LOT. One thing I figured out is that pulse audio 6 pretty much doesn't work for anyone doing anything. SO, I uninstalled, rolled back to pulse5. However, I still cannot get pulse to come online. I've enabled as system, root, and as a user. I've played with daemon, conf, etc and no success.

Any chance someone is willing to share their image? I've never gotten the one that Andy has available to work. I've gone through the long install process twice with success (ya, forgot to make an image when it was working). I need to get this back online!!!!

On the upside I have a usb receiver arriving any day. I'm going to attempt a TTD from scratch using the USB receiver (and not pulse audio). Like all the good people in here, I'll share an image if I have something of value.

Thanks

Has anyone ever had the issue with too many recipients and the messages being returned? I have what appears to be 6 @vzwpix.com addresses returned with to many recipients, however, I send the messages BCC.

I am curious if VZW is not happy with the amount of messages being sent. As a added bonus, the alert sent out last night is my larger list and we had a "General" at 8:20pm and then another one at 8:42pm which is odd for us, but, did trigger another set of messages.

I also have one Verizon user who said he received the messages at 5:10am and his address was not the one listed in the cannot send to many recipients.

I did not receive any failures that I know for text message @vtext.com (nor any other service provider). Maybe chalk it up to to much to fast?

I have used 2tone for a while now and its great, I have just added some new members and I have 2 Android s6 Galaxy users that get the text but can not play the audio? If I text them the message from my phone it works and if I send it from a different email server for example network solutions vs gmail it works, so the pattern that I have figured so far is it just wont play an audio file if sent from gmail??? Anyone have any ideas?
