That's strange. The emails that you're receiving...are the attachments in WAV or MP3 format? Also, do you have the program installed in a directory that you have full read/write privileges for? I'm not sure why the program isn't seeing ffmpeg.exe.

Andy

I went pack and check the properties of the folder and "read only" was selected. I changed that and still a no go.

I let the program run over night and there was some false alerts. I do have the tolerance set to 3.

One thing I did notice. The actual tones being used when the program detects then the tones the program is displaying seem to be a little off. Like 701 will show up as 704.

Might want to try opening a command prompt with "Run as administrator", then call the debug exe for here. If this works then you know it is permission based.

amr failures

What version have you been using that worked? If it was v48 or prior, you need to get ffmpeg.exe to work with v49 or later.

Andy

Andy, I am currently running v48 and v56 concurrently on a WinXP machine. Both detect tones and send emails properly. However, in my limited testing on v56 no texts have been received that contain a .amr attachment. The ones from v48 come through fine. When I go into the Sent Mail folder in the Gmail account they are there but nothing is received at the phone. This makes me think that your program is doing its job, but AT&T is somehow blocking those emails. No undeliverable or failure messages back.

I have the whole debug file for you and went through line by line to X out email addresses, etc. Then i found that i have typed in my phone number incorrectly... :-(

I wonder who was getting all of your emails

So is 56 working for you now?

I've tried messing around with it with no luck. I'm getting wav files sent via email and that is working for me.

AMR Works great when you have the right file...

Thanks for the help, I just noticed that i copied the ffmpeg html and not the ffmpeg.exe...

Amr should work fine now, just waiting for a set of tones, can't test from out of town.

On another note, I am creating an application to read the tones.cfg file, allow me to quickly add or delete members from each dept. having some troubles but thinking mysql will be the way to go. anyone have success with anything similar to maintenance a large list of members/depts??

I have created an excel sheet that maintains my list of members. It auto formats the emails based on the carrier. It makes a string list of users with the commas in place . All u have to do is copy the string and paste it in the tones. Imakes it easy to keep track add and delete users. I will share at request. Need excel 2010 to use.

Amr failures

I just set up v56 this week. I had been running v48 quite successfully. Ran a test this morning sending an amr email to a #####@mms.att.net and it didn't go through, nothing received at all not even a text without an attachment. I haven't had a chance to sort through the debug. The same test went through fine with the mp3 attachment.

The amr email portion seems finicky. We were dispatched three times overnight. No amr emails. Mp3 came through fine. So i do a test this morning and the amr worked. I have studied my .cfg files and can't see the difference that may be causing this I didn't have the debugger running, will go turn that on now. V56

Excel sheet

Anyone interested in The excel sheet, please email me at tseymour91@aol.com
Please put two tone detect excel in subject line. Also if u use any carrier besides AT&T , tmobile, sprint, or Verizon; send me the carrier and the texting email address. Also if u have more than 45 members and monitor more than one tone; send that information as well. I will make the necessary adjustments to the excel sheet.

Link to Excel File

This is a copy of the excel file. It has been zipped to fit the file requirements of forum. Use winzip to open. It will be a 2010 office excel document. Older versions will not recognize formulas in spreadsheet.
It is limited to the four major carriers of the United States and to 43 members. It can be adjusted by user who have a working knowledge of excel. I can adjust a request of user. Any questions, just pm me.

Errors

I just downloaded the program and over the past few days have been trying to get it up and running. It is recognizing the tones however in the debug I'm getting a few errors preventing the audio from processing. Any advice would be appreciated. Below is the debug for two incidents.

Problem with "received time"

Hi

I have been using your program for almost a month now, and it is an awesome asset to our organization. I have noticed that in the message title the received time is not actually the time the program received the tone but the time it sent the email out through gmail. I was hoping there was an easy fix for this that i could do, If not its no big deal. Happy programming. Also if you set up a paypal donation button i would be more then happy to donate some funds to fund further development of this program.

Thanks,

Steve

Remove the "/" from your tone name. Try a "-" or "_".

Sound Quality

The program is running, recording, and e-mailing dispatches however the recording is all static. The dispatch is clear coming across my computer speakers. I've been playing with the input/output levels but nothing seems to help. Any advice on clearing up the audio? I have a different scanner hooked up now to see if that makes a difference.

Hi. this program was working very well for me until I switched the email address and phone number I am sending to.
Since then, not a single tone has been detected... I'm not sure why.
Any ideas?
