Reprogramming has started. From now until November 15, all radios will be reprogrammed on the new type II groups. Most VFD's are being programmed this coming week. So start monitoring the new talkgroups starting monday. They are not leaving the old subfleets in the radios, so once they are programmed on the new groups, they will not communicate on the old ones. LFD communications has control stations programmed on the new groups, so as the VFD's are programmed, they will start talking to the dispatcher on the new groups. Will post more Type II groups as I get them.

It appears that some divisions of the SO are now using the new talkgroups. I have heard test counts on the others that are not being used yet. It sure was nice of the dispatchers to identify the talkgroups by saying things like,"Lafayette testing on 4-A."

I sent in the information and it should be in the database as soon as a moderator gets to it.

LOL that sure was nice of the dispatchers. Now if only all dispatchers could be kind eneough to say things like that or Central testing fireground 1,... It would make it a lot easier for us scannists. I usually end up catching just the techs saying rolling 5 counts and the like...Or a test tone out with only a cryptic statement like,.. "Test tone only"

Still waiting for the dispatcher/tech with a sense of humor saying "Can you hear me now?...Good."

This is just to let everyone know that I sent in the information for the new type II ID's for Fleets 7 and 8 on the Lafayette system. Note that there are two different talkgroups that display 8-C on the user's radios. One of them has been around for a number of years and is used as an alternate channel by Carencro PD and the other first came into use about a year ago and is used as a third channel by the University Police. Although both of these talkgroups show "8-C" on the user's radios, they are actually two different talkgroups.

Does anyone know the new talkgroup ID's for 1-M, 1-N, and 1-O? These talkgroups don't have enough traffic for me to figure them out yet.
