New uniden scanner

I read somewhere that uniden was going to release info on new upcoming models Sep 30. But I can not find anything about this.

Did anyone hear or see this info?

Does anyone have any info on any new modles that are in the pipeline?

I believe the announcement was for the Bas/Mobile version of the 396. It is called the BCD996T. Look on Yahoo groups or here for a link to the specs.

And for those with no gps on hand can purchase one for additional cost of 199 to 800 dollars. because it's definately going to have to be able to supply a NMEA signal by way of db9 to the scanner or possibly usb. Not all gps's do that, so don't get your hopes up to high just yet.

p.s. how do i know this APRS with a Kenwood TMD700A and Garmin Street Pilot 3 Deluxe.

I agree, people keep saying a scanner with GPS. No its a scanner to which you can hook a GPS to.

I like the fact that GPS is an option, because I'm going to use it as a base, and use my 396 on the road, so I'll have no need for the GPS.
