Two new ANDVT nets have appeared in the HF spectrum and seem to coincide with existing USCG HF Voice Radio.

8980.0 USB
5699.0 USB

Both frequencies are very active with ANDVT and are exclusively ANDVT traffic.

Note their difference of 3KHz between their possible clear voice counterparts:

8980.0 / 8983.0 (-3 KHz)
5699.0 / 5696.0 (+3 KHz)

Anyone know the real story?

Hey Lindsay

I was checking the wunclub archive logfile (probably 5-10 years old) and found these 2 items of interest.

08980.0 Unid 2006 USB ANDVT comms on COMMSTA Honolulu SAG/SVN freq. (EA)

08980.0 COMSTA KODIAK: 0739 USB, clg VICTOR 3 YANKEE, SVN ALPHA BRAVO in the clear over (05/June/01) (NJ)

Yeah we've heard quite a few USCG comms on 8980 over the past few months. Seems like USCG 5megs hasn't been active nearly as much but I remember Brandon had a couple of hits around between 5690-5732 range in the fall.

Yep that would be 5693. I have it written down as SVN Alpha for the channel name. It has been mentioned on the freq itself and CAMSPAC refers to it every now and then over COTHEN.
