Hello RR community! I just got a Uniden BCD996P2 and installed freescan. The application is pretty straight forward and YT videos helped allot. Ive been searching this forum and havent had any luck. I was looking for frequencies for MCSO for Queen Creek (Area 6?).

I love the scanner and the app. I plan on upgrading to a paid account to support the developer. In the mean time, I feel overwhelmed using the scanner. I was hoping someone could point me to a good known freq to try. From there I think I can learn by doing things through the app.

I checked the DB and couldnt find anything specific to Queen Creek.

Thanks in advance

Queen Creek Fire is on the Mesa Topaz system, use the Mesa Simulcast. Dispatch is C Deck 1 TG 3064 and the fireground/Tac Talkgroup is 3824.

For MCSO use the Thompson Peak site (not sure what it will be on the new P25 system if non encrypted). They will be on the East TG's listed in the DB Motorola Type II smartzone, MCSO hasn't transitioned to the new system yet. You also may find them using some of the other TGs listed for events and other situations.

Its been a few weeks and Ive learned quite a bit. I do have a question that I think I know the answer to but I will see what experienced users think. If after a few weeks of ID Searching (not ID Scan) Im not getting any hits from a site, is it safe to say that I am out of reach of that site?

Whether its a an issue of distance, equipment or combination.

It's usually due to distance, a user programming error, or a database error (frequencies have changed, and no one has discovered and reported the new ones, or the site is no longer active at all, and the entry hasn't been deprecated).

Thanks! I think in my case its a distance issue. RR DB shows me being 7 miles out of range for a couple of sites. I was hoping there was a margin of error but it seems the map is pretty accurate.
