New user-BC355C

Hi, I just received a BC355C to replace an older scanner that will not unlock.
I found all the channels for my area and have been trying to program it.

My question is, all of the scanner channels for my area have 8 numbers and I can only put in 7.
What do I do or am I doing something wrong?

Ignore that last digit. In almost all cases it will be a zero.
