I am a little new at this guys, but I would really appreciate any help you can give me. I have a Motorola STX with a GPS ver 1.1 controller. I need to get it programmed for the Nashville Metro area. I know I need the RSS from Motorola, as well as the RIB and cable to the radio. I also figure I need to get the frequencies and/or codes I need to program it with. Since I am kinda new to this, can anyone tell me a little about how this all works? Where do I go to find the correct freq / codes for Nashville, how are they programmed via the RSS software. I know the GPS controller in the radio will work with a type II system, and nashville i beleive is on a astro 3600 which i "believe" can be accessed by a STX with a type II controller. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, my charger is dead for the radio. Anyone have one for sale?

You are going to need:

RIB, part number RLN4008E, $200.00
STX cable, part number 0180357A54, no longer available from Motorola
STX software, part number 4049E, $74.20
list of control channels
list of talkgroups
the system key

You can get the RIB and cable off of eBay or the used market. Software will have to come from Motorola directly. The control channels and talkgroup info can be obtained from this site. The major problem you will have is that you do not have the system key. You will not be able to program the trunk system in to the radio without the system key. Look around and maybe you'll find some info on how to make your own.

Yes, your GPS controller will work with a Type II system. Your STX will NOT work on any sort of Astro system; it is NOT a digital-capable radio. I don't know anything about Nashville's system, but if it is digital, then the STX isn't going to work.

You can find chargers on eBay all the time.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Jeff
