Hello....I am new to this. I acquired an older radio Shack Pro 2049 scanner and cannot get any reception with the antenna that came with the unit. I assume getting a "better" antenna would help. I do not know anything about antennas and would like to know if I can build my own or if there is a antenna I could purchase that would help my reception. I live in northern Lake County Illinois. Any help would be appreciated.
