After 15 years of owning the same V1, today I order there Gen2. :)

I wish I had a V1. They're sweet.

I have had a Beltronics PRO 200 for a few years now. Prior to that I had (and still have in my closet) the Beltronics V940.

It's not as shiny or as feature packed as the Valentine but it works for me. I'm not a speeder anyway, it's a fun thing to mess around with and it is nice to have some situational awareness.

Sounds like the same thing with Scanners to be honest; situational awareness and interesting to fiddle with.

Good luck. Lots of issues with the the new V1. Units falling to power up and the front bezel coming loose. There's a poll over on rdforum.org which suggests a 30-40% failure rate.

Valentine has been pretty good at getting defective units repaired or replaced though. 2-3 day turnaround is typical.

That said, its one of the top performing units out there right now. Only the Uniden R7 is comparable in detection range.
