Why are WSPDOT and IWN separate systems in the DB? They have the same system ID and WACN.

60224 should be the one when they switch over.

Noting in Vancouver they are simulcasting on their disp channels and TG 59510 on IWN. CRESA TG remains active to monitor as well

I heard WSP on IWN here in SW Portland for the first time yesterday, on the 59510 talkgroup. I believe it was on the Beaverton IWN site, oddly enough. I'm not getting a control channel signal for the Vancouver IWN site here in SW Portland unfortunately, but I do get a good CC on several of the other sites in the area. The decode quality for the WSP transmissions I heard on IWN was not that great. The conventional P25 on 154.68 sounds better to me. Also worth noting, since we've both had P25 quality issues with WSP Vancouver, is that I've recently added a BCD536HP to my shack, and WSP sounds so much better on it than it does on my older radios it's not even funny. It seems Uniden made some real P25 progress with that last firmware update for the 536.

Yes I heard them this morning as well. The techs set up a patch to the VHF 905 repeater.
I have been hearing some testing in the clear on DOJ iWN on 59409 a 13xxx one as well.

They are also on an IWIN system using encryption on these freqs. on the west side.. At least I am told that is who this is. WSP unit to unit.. I can hear it, just not able to understand it obviously.. Forgive me if this was already stated. I haven't read every page of this post. Seems to me the new system is just a mess. Should have just stuck with the old one and added to it..

What talkgroups are you hearing the west side units on? What range of unit ids.
I use to be able to hear a WSP dispatch out of snohomish county on iWN TG 13602 in Spokane but now it is encrypted.

What tower on IWN system are you currently hearing WSP on? 154.905 is not part of the iWN system.

from what i was told, it is a conventional channel, but it's also apart of the P25 system on SRECS here in Spokane, their TGID IS: 60224

It's not a part of it, just linked to it.
154.905 is WA State Patrol
DOJ IWN is Federal
SRECS is Spokane County

Hope that clears it up.

Yes 154.905 has been patched to 60224 full time now. The 59409 is also patched to 154.905 but is only on rarely probably due to the units not affiliating with it yet.

I see a problem developing. The closest DOJIWIN site to me is Shrag in Adams County 15 miles away. The best I can get is 2 bars. If I travel 5 miles closer to the highest spot in the county where I can physically see the tower 10 miles away I still only get 2 bars. In the last 10 months I have not heard anything off of DOJIWIN at all just a 2 bar LNK signal. They have moved District 4 Central Area Spokane to it but what about District 4 South Area Lind.

Edit: Correction its only 1 bar. The 2 bar is for the Beezley site.

I'm on the north side of Spokane so I don't know if Lind Ritzville has moved or linked yet. I only get mt Spokane mica and five mile on the iWN system.

Then you are closer to District 4 North Area Republic than you are to the Central Area Spokane. I just started a Trunking Discovery run on DOJIWIN via the Beezley site(since I get the strongest signal there) with my BCD536HP. I will let it run for 24 hours.

Well I stopped the discovery mode after it ran for 20 hours without a single hit from anything, not just the WSP.

Not knowing much about the 536, are you running a "wildcard"? Does the radio mute received encryption? I only ask since there was once another person here who claimed the IWN system was totally without traffic...His scanner was muting encrypted signals. He heard no traffic in a 2 day period whereas Pro96Com on my end noted 2500+ transmissions, 96% of them encrypted voice (the rest data).
