New Wyolink Site

Received this message today:

The new WyoLink Portable Coverage Enhancement site near Powell (McPe) is in wide area trunking and available for use.

This site will provide enhanced mobile radio coverage in central Big Horn and Park Counties and will provide enhanced portable radio coverage in the City of Powell.

This brings the number of active WyoLink Sites to 65.

I have attached a map showing the location and status of WyoLink sites.

....and was added to the DB about 10min ago. I think the intent from one of the last Wyolink sessions is to get decent coverage into Yellowstone but the costs for putting sites up there along with technical challenges remain.

All of NPS's stuff in Yellowstone operate on solar/battery combinations due to the remoteness and lack of infrastructure.
