I like the looks of this radio. I had the VR120 and really liked it a lot. However, if it doesn't have CTCSS/DCS, I won't get it. However, if it does have it, I may look at getting one.

The Icom R5 is an excellent little receiver and I think the thing that separated the R5 and the VR120 is the CTCSS/DCS ability of the R5. Wonder when it is coming to the States and at what price?

The VR-160 is shown with a price of 34,800 yen on the Japanese Vertex / Standard web page. Converting that to USD yields $386; that seems a little high to me. Here's to hoping it comes in around the Icom R-5 or R-6 pricing!

Wow, a non-transmitting VX3R. No 7.5 or 6.25Khz steps. Yaesu and Icom keep forgetting to include SSB too.
