This weekend is the 1st ever New York State Air Show at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh. This event was previously held near coney island but was moved to SWF for security and safety reasons.

I'll be driving up for the day on Saturday. Any recommendations on what frequencies will be active and a good listen? Never been to an airshow before.

Also what agencies cover SWF airport and what agencies should I expect would be there for the event?

Air Boss frequency during today's practice was 135.65. Should be a good show tomorrow and Sunday.

Note: An inbound Jet Blue flight was annoyed at a 20 minute delay because of the practice with para jumpers going on today. :p

NY - Stunt pilot practicing for the New York Air Show dies after plane catches fire..

I don't know if it will impact the show's itinerary or not, but a pilot died during show-practice.
"A pilot died Friday afternoon while practicing tricks ahead of the New York Air Show... The airport is where the New York Air Show is expected to take place this Saturday and Sunday. Pilots were out practicing with their planes on Friday, but after the crash practice was cancelled...A woman at the New York Air Show box office said that the show is expected to go on this weekend. They cancelled practice for the rest of the afternoon but the main show will go on this weekend although obviously without Andrew Wright. The plane had a structural failure and lost its tail section. There was no time for him to bail out. Some friends and I are going to the show tomorrow albeit with a much more somber mood. Thoughts and prayers to the pilots family and friends.
