For some reason I just started hearing both sides of the conversation on what I think is NY Center. The freq is 132.1750. I know I've heard this frequency many time and have only heard the pilot (not the ground). Now for some reason I'm consistently hearing bothe the plane and the ground communications. I haven't changed a thing other than adding a 90-degree BNC adapter. I swear I never was able ot hear the ground and now I can. I've been listening all weekend so it wasn't just a temporary clear night or something. Perhaps they chaned something or I'm hearing something else. It is listed in the RR database as Elk Mtn which is about an hour north of me by car.

Anyone else hearing this in my area?

They might be using a different transmitter location. Does the signal seem about the same as any other NY Center freqs that you can hear the ground communications on?

I have a similar situation here in California. 99% of the time I can hear the ZLA controller on 119.950 because it transmits from Pleasants Peak which is pretty close to me. But sometimes they use a transmitter located offshore and I cannot pick that one up.

It sounds the same as the other NYCenter frequencies to me....only someone is answering. If I am hearing the location I think it is then I don't think it is moved or a new location, at least from what I know. (It's at the top of a ski slope in winter).
