Quite an advancement huh?

Unnatural Death: Confessions of a Medical Examiner by Michael Baden

Danieldad, tell me this doesn't bring back memories?

Since you're pre FDNY/EMS you might want to check out "Thee Rant Yuku Dot Com" a famous NYPD/FDNY/NYCEMS rant forum, I dare not put the actual web address on here because it would probably violate the RR TOS because if you're familiar with it, you know it's triple X extreme hard core ranting to the max times 100 squared to the 9th power against a certain minority & I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for the video of the OCME Mobile Command Center. Dr. Hirsch (the former CME) must have liked his toys. Addressing the original query in this posting, I didn't notice any VHF/UHF communications antennas on the vehicle -- only microwave satellite antennas. Unless I missed something, there doesn't seem to be any short-range voice comms capability, but, again, I may have missed it.

I haven't read Dr. Baden's book and don't plan to. For a comprehensive pre-DNA overview of forensic pathology try "Where Death Delights -- The Story of Dr. Milton Helpern and Forensic Medicine" by Marshall Houts (see: Where Death Delights: Marshall Houts: Amazon.com: Books). It begins with the Latin inscription on the marble wall at the entrance to 520 First Avenue: "Taceant colloquia, effugiat risus. Hic locus est ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitae." This translates to "Let conversation cease. Let laughter flee. This is the place where death delights to help the living."

Haleve, I'm not far away from you at the FLOP. It's more or less my permanent station now. Richie McAllan?! Never worked with him as a partner, but ran into him frequently when I worked Harlem. My partner made sure I knew who he was and what he was doing for us. Heard about his passing a few years ago. The man was tireless with respect to 2507. They kids on the job now (and the dinosaurs who were able to retire before age 62) wouldn't have what they have now if it weren't for him and a handful of other people.

The vehicle has three black low-profile antennas (and maybe more in the center of the roof) that can be either 800 MHz or maybe even MIMO wi-fi. I don't know. There's also a directive panel antenna on the driver's side, maybe for 2.4, 4.9 or 5.8 GHz.

N2NOV shows OCME as being on DoITT's 800 system with TG: 8704 and 17600, so that would line up.
