Recent updates to the database's New York City -> Other Fire/EMS -> EMS section has me concerned. Below are what my notes show to be active in the five boroughs. n/a indicates I have no current information in my notes for the agency.

95B North Shore Rescue Squad (452.8000R, 88.5 / WQOS955)

What specifically has me concerned is that a recent database update has the Western Queens Volunteer Ambulance Association community repeater (461.5000, WQCI921) shared by 94P, 94S, 94Z, and 94M. I show 94M as disbanded. Could DCS 226 be in use by 94A?

I'm curious why I've never seen any submissions to the database from you, when it seems clear that you have data worth sharing.

I can confirm that Ridgewood Vac is using Glen Oaks repeater for their operations. They rarely come on as they buff jobs but you’ll hear them once in awhile. The ridgewood guys use UHF motorola ht1250 radios. They have a good rapport with glen oaks and some members volley with both vacs. They’re both highly respected in their communities.

The EMS database is very accurate. However, keep in mind that majority of “Private EMS” companies operating in NYC are apart of the “911 response” program. Therefore, they use whichever FDNY Dispatch frequency in the area they are working in. They will have similar designations to an FDNY bus. Transports they will use their own designated frequency, however. IMO the NY metro area databases are in very good shape.

On the topic of Ridgewood VAC, they have officially merged with Glendale Vac & Middle Village Vac. I believe they’ll be all under Ridgewood VAC later in the future. The paperwork is still going through with the Dept of Health and FDNY.

I hope they get their own radio system in the future cause that’ll be some interesting listening.

You should submit these to the database as I'm sure people will like to have this info.

It's a shame seeing how many VAC's are disappearing. College Point along with Whitestone were on a M trunked system.
The city treats them like crap then begs for them when there’s a heatwave or blizzard. Also funding is tough to keep it going.

I agree, and it’s even more of a shame to see how the city’s own FDNY EMS personnel are treated. For what they go through, the salary is awful. No protection either down there. Anyways, I don’t want to send the thread off topic.

Not to go too off topic but FDNY didn't want EMS (from HHC) but due to dwindling member numbers by house closing they took it. If HHC had put as much money as FDNY did into the system we would have a Grade A 4th service in NYC. I have been out over 25years and cringe how EMS personel are treated, the VACS even more so.
