New York County Sheriff numbering system?

As of today, It sounds like the YCSO has started some type of new numbering system for their deputies. Has anyone heard and and know why they are changing all the numbers?

That's how Horry County does county patrols. North South Central and a West , think that's a smart move on the York County Sheriff's Part.

That's what I thought when I 1st saw it but I'm sure he just means a NEW numbering for York County - with me ?

Maybe "York County Sheriff has a new numbering system" would have looked better, or just less confusing
