If possible, I was wondering if some people could program in 159.435, 159.225 & 159.465 into their live feeds. Very much interested in monitor the State Forest Rangers especially during search, rescue and fire emergencies. Very active in the adirondack region. I have been listening on the Hamilton County feed but the feed seems to drop and go off line most nights for some reason. Very dissappointing when listening to an incident and the feed drops. Thank you.

I do have plans to add the Region 7 SAR Channels on a live feed shortly. This will include the Rangers Channels.

Depending on what part of the state you live in it can be an active frequency since they not only handle Forest Fires but search & rescue missions. Region 5 & 6 include the adirondacks, 3 & 4 include the Catskill Mt. Alot searches for missing hikers and hunters in these areas. Also assist in the rescue of injuried hikers, hunters and campers, downed aircraft and patrol camp grounds.

Very active in my area of the Adirondacks - Region 5. The Forest Rangers use 159.435 and Environmental Conservation Police use 159.225. They also use a lot of simplex frequencies like 151.220 and 151.430. Very interesting radio communications...

One of their towers tends to stick when the base transmits. I hear them struggling with it (selector beeps and mic clicks) to get it to shut off down in the Albany area.

Thats a VOIP issue from Raybrook. They are working on it, but appears to be a signal loss issue. Locally the unit works fine.

what feed will you hear the forest rangers? I am a retired forest ranger.

I dont think anyone has them on a live feed yet. I plan to do so, but need to get another sound card for the PC prior. What I meant by VOIP link, is Raybrook now is using VOIP to control the repeaters from Dispatch. In addition Central Region Dispatch can also talk on them via the VOIP if Raybrook should go down. This is a far improvement from long ago when they used phone lines to control a few repeaters only.

Hamilton County has a feed that includes the Forest Rangers. Essex County's feed includes ENCON Law Enforcement - 159.225..

In Essex County, if you listen to 159.435 in CSQ mode with a decent antenna you pick up all kinds of traffic from other agencies that are using the same frequency.

I have 159.435 on my feed "Oneida County Public Safety". Will add the others soon. Or confirm I already have them in there. Very active during hunting season with searches.

I can just barely hear 159.435 PL 131.8 at my listening post. I am hearing traffic talking to "Ranger Station" with mention about Cunningham's Ledge, Grey and references about taking people out on a boat. Anyone have any clue where this is comming from?

Well I just discovered that all of the Rangers traffic on 159.435 is now using a PL tone of 131.8 ( at least Gore and Whiteface). Not sure when this change took place, but it must have been just recently. I wonder why they did that?? Anyone else notice this?

Not sure why this did this, I know that they have tried to centralize their dispatch functions since Region 4 Rangers will use Colfax to call Raybrook. I did find a PL tone of 127.3 for the Hudson Valley region, not sure which tower this is for. Region 4 use Petersburg, Buck Mt & Utsayatha. Region 3 uses Sams Point, Ninham, Jackie Jones & Livingston Manor. Region 1 uses Seldon PL 127.3.
