Hi there, new to the board...I've been a Trooper with Colorado for awhile now but i've always been interested in scanners, radios, etc... for a long time, since I was a kid. I'm sure I can help answer alot of questions when it comes to State questions as well as some other agencies that I was with.

Welcome. It's nice to have someone in Law Enforcement be part of the monitoring hobby. It helps improve our image and show that most (there's exceptions everywhere) of us are responsible, pro law enforcement (and public safety in general) people.

Also it hopefully helps keep, at least the day to day traffic, in the clear and not encrypted like some agencies want to do.

I don't consider it a right to listen or anything, but I sure enjoy it, and consider it to be very informative, and I think it goes a long way in keeping good feelings by the public towards public safety people. We owe all of you debt of gratitude.

Think you could submit a full list of the CSP Unit Id's so we could get them into the Database. Just like how the Callsigns are made up and any special units? If you don't want to disperse that information that fine just thought I would ask.

On The callsigns...the number such as 1 charlie 8, is the senority number within the troop, ex 1 david 1 would be the senior trooper of the troop

Welcome Troop - A little clarification please if possible

Thanks for the great up-to-date CSP call list. I had a couple of questions about some things I have heard and some things I have wondered about.

(1) I thought I heard a "10C" unit at one time, did I mishear that?

(2) I have noticed that some of the "R" units use the District number as part of their callsign as in 4R1 and 5R1 here on the west slope, but most all the other "R" cars are just the "R" without the district number like R45, etc. What is the difference, if there is one?

(3) In the Troops that have more than one office, like in 4C, can you tell which Troopers belong to which office within the troop, or is it just purely seniority within the troop regardless of the specific sub-office assignment?

The detail-oriented analyst in me wants to know.

As far as the 10C..you might have but i'm not too sure who that would be. I forgot the ART team (Accident Reconstruction)..they go by district then Robert than senority on that district ART team ex 2R1 etc.....I think the only troop that you could tell who was working what area was 2B. They had goofy numbers for leadville cars, I think that might have changed though. The rest of the troops, it's all by senority numbers.

So, just so Im sure what you are saying.....The "R" units with the District number prefix attached are the ART units, and the regular (plain) "R" numbers are the Corporals.

Also, do they use any of the rest of the "9" series besides the "9B" units?

Correct

Corporals have numbers like R34, ART is like 6R3

everynow and then you might here a 9 robert # on there. Those are the Port of Entry officers either working in the port or working a portable scale somewhere
