I have Newark Fire Dispatch working perfectly fine, but I really want fireground audio. Sometimes it seems like they use ch. 2 and talk on the fireground a little bit, but there's got to be other frequencies that they talk on when on scene. None I can find though.

Thanks

I know to have anything work for that P25 system you have to attach the West Orange Simulcast site. However, the above fireground frequencies aren't under the NJICS so do I have to manually add them?

Update: nevermind, I got it working, but just random static.

I have yet to hear Newark FD switch off their main talkgroup during a fire. They just talk on their main talkgroup just like its a fireground. If they get another job in the city, dispatch will tell those response companies to use channel 2 so they don't interfere (which is the next talkgroup on the trunked system in their radios).

It suprises me that their union allows them to use a trunked digital talkgroup for fireground operations. Keep command on it for dispatch and for instructions to responding companies and use a frigin analog simplex channel. Maybe when someone gets killed....

I'm aware of that. The problem is they DONT USE THEM. I've been on the scene of several working fire in Newark and have my PSR-800 parked on the NJ ICS and my 996 scanning their conventional VHF and 700 frequencies. Not a peep on the 996. I've listened to all the interior ops on the TRS (search, calling for water, ventilation, etc).

I live in South Jersey (Vineland).. If I download tower codes from near by towers(Hammonton and Woodbine, and then download NFD/essex County IDs, would I be able to hear them from here?
Thanks in advance..

You might be able to get them on the Hammonton site,it all depends if a radio affiliates.I get them on and off not 24/7 with the Bordentown site.
Which scanner are you using? you would need one that does Phase 2 digital like the newer unidens,PSR800 or the new Whistler WS1080. Sometimes they operate in Phase 1 if we're lucky.
