On item I will report on is Signal Strength of Newark TRS.

Newark’s CC when discovered OTA was measured. I have a spreadsheet and record all Systems CC signal strength so I have a baseline for performance.
Newark baseline was and continues to be right around -100 db here.

The NJICS West Orange Site measures 108 dBm. I am almost LOS to Eagle Rock. Signal from Newark -100 dBm. Fair amount better, and reportedly not at Eagle Rock.

If and when Eagle Rock is OTA, there should be an increase.

I have been around Newark a couple of times recently. Left the Tiny Ultra SA home. Not going down that rabbit hole again either. Done.

NPD Detectives Sounds like narc units
Detectives including the criminal intelligence units work off of channel 6 when conducting an operation or surveillance. If they get into anything such as a foot chase, they will then switch over to the primary precinct channel where they are operating to request assistance or further units. Channel six is usually pretty active during the day and early evening hours. Since the 1st Precinct was closed a few years back channel one is used for operations at times also.

I have spent the past few weeks actively monitoring this system. Especially with the additions of Newark FD, REMCS, and the SPEN patch. In my own opinion, the SPEN patch sounds better then most others I have tried before. SPEN comes in choppy on most of my scanners/radios on the conventional side so going forward this will be my go to. Additionally, Newark FD and REMCS sound much more clearer on this system as opposed to NJICS. As a reference, I am using Uniden 996P2 scanners currently for anything digital. Just my own personal thoughts on this, was wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

TG 1041 is NPD Channel - 6

TG 2201 Essex County Fire Mutual Aid Patch
Make sure you are submitting these to the database. Posting here is great for all, but it will not be included unless you submit them.

TG1041 is NPD 6 CWIDE. I don't know where the TG6 came from in the database. That is incorrect.

Good catch on ECFMA

Bad info removed, thanks for the report/correction. Nice to have someone with the skill, experience, and knowledge you possess monitoring this (and other) systems in the region.
Someone is missing an active TG 1001🤷🏻‍♂️🤔

TG1001 seems to be used for special events, unknown what channel it is.
Indeed, getting closer. Clue “Echo” units and with HQ too. Perhaps “somebody” will be able to be that perfect person.👀🤣 Database looking messy.

Echo units are emergency service units from what I am told
Newark held it's annual Latin Festival along Bloomfield Avenue yesterday. The "echo" units are units assigned to a detail such as yesterday's. They work similarly to when the city hosts it's Portuguese Festival in the Ironbound. Since closing down the 1st precinct, that channel is used for any special events like the basketball tournament that was held last week in Branchbrook Park.

Outstanding. Perhaps you know the conventional frequency? All of the 460.xxx and TG match up to RR database. Seems like this is missing. Thanks.
