The Helicopter can use any of the Newark PD channels. Remember that in the Class B Air Space ( City of Newark ) the helicopter on the aviation side uses 127.850 MHZ AM. Now overnights at times the tower pulls all air traffic on the Newark Tower freq 118.300

I hear them on SPEN1 a lot when they are helping out the local police departments. Also remember the radios in the choppers are field programmable. They can come up on any frequency under the sun. I love listening t o 127.8500 AM, that's also- where the news choppers hang out!

News Helicopters are also on 123.025 MHZ AM.

You won't hear them ID as chopper 4, 2 etc etc

But you will hear them B.S. back and fourth and

chasing each other to jobs. Another good aviation

freq is NYPD Aviation on 123.100. Hope this

info helps. Anyone know what the chopper

ID's as on aviation and police radio and also

where the helicopter is based would be great

info. Take Care and have a good weekend.

Tony
