Let me start off by saying HELLO!
... I'm new to the world of HAM, and have only been on the air a couple of times. I have a Baofeng portable, and my word truck has a kenwood 7180 that i've programmed our local repeaters into.
Now, I have recently acquired a iCom V8000 that I haven't setup yet, as I can't decide whether to make it a base at home or mount in my personal vehicle. But let's get to the point...
A friend is going to lend me his yaesu 8800 (which will be fun) as I look for a dual, or quad band radio as I want to have potential to learn and grow. I then came across the Kenwood TM-V71A... I'm amazed! The ability to remote control it using DTMF tones is crazy!? Are there any other radios out there that have this capability, or is that one going to be the one added to my wishlist.
