I am using a Uniden BC246T scanner and I am trying to program it to listen to many of the different TMR Talkgroups listed in the database here (http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=3627).

I have figured out how to get the Talkgroup names in the scanner, and I think I have the Trunk ID in properly, but I have no idea how to get the frequencies set, or what the frequencies are.

Can someone please help me set this up?

Thanks

I'm sorry, there was an error retrieving the information from the database for sid == "3627)" .....

Check that link again.

As for the frequencies you need. YOu should see them right at the top of the page there.

You'll need to get used to programming all the frequencies for each site you want to monitor (general rule: one site per bank). That is the way trunking works. There are no specific channels for any one service. They are all shared.

What site are you trying to listen to? I was just in Musquodoboit Harbour a few weeks ago and tracked that site via the control channel only. You can program just the frequencies in and put the scanner in ID search mode until you decide what Talkgroups you want to listen to. You might want to use the Butel software to program the scanner, it makes life a lot easier.

You don't set the frequencies for talkgroups. The system has frequencies and it has talkgroups, so you program each, frequencies and talkgrouips, on a per-system basis, but they (frequencies and talkgroups) aren't related in any way other than by belonging to the same system.

To: MrParamedicJeff:

Please click on the link at the top of this page that says RR Wiki. Once there, in the block titled General Information, click the link to Trunking, there please read the Trunking Basics article, it will, hopefully, clear your confusion.
