Newb with Pro 96 and how to program Freq's

Now that I finally reset my scanner I can begin my upload, now I live in Orange County California, in the city of Santa Ana and I know my whole county is encrypted, But I am a newb with a Pro-96 scanner, I have Win 96 and am subscribed to this site for the download, I would like to be able to get any LEO freq's and FD / EMS in OC as possible my biggest request would be how to get the local CHP onto my scanner, could anyone please guide me through the process, had the scanner for a week now and still no luck.

It doesn't say anything about the analog CHP Frequencies. How do I go abouts looking that up?

You might try going over to the California forum and asking for a .p96 (that's the file extension Win96 uses, I understand) file for your area. Or as explained in the wiki, since you are a premium subscriber, use the web service to pull data from the database.

Without a good outdoor antenna, hearing anything on the 30-50 mhz band is going to be a challenge. The little antenna that comes with the 96 is just about as good as a wet noodle on these freqs. An antenna like a ScanTenna or discone might be a worthwhile improvement, but be aware that handhelds aren't made to work all that well in urban environments with large antennas. Overloading can be a real issue.
