I've been a long time user of a Uniden 700A scanner at home. I now want to start to get more involved in my listening pleasure.

I am looking at the Pro 164 mobile scanner as my first step into a more robust scanner.

I'm looking to monitor Westbrook, Windham, Gorham, Portland fire and police as a priority. I'd like to also monitor Maine State Police when traveling and since I work near the jetport, I'd like to monitor air traffic.

Will the Pro 164 do the job? Or is there another model I should be looking at? I'd like to stay 'cheap' for now....
