newbie, GRE PSR-800 help in Chandler

hi, its been 30+ years since i owned a scanner, wanted to get back into it.
got the Grecom PSR-800, thinking would be easy... and it mostly is....

but i am hung up on getting the chandler AZ pd to come in.
i need some hand holding to walk me through getting the trunk and talk groups setup correctly. i know absolutely nothing about scanners anymore. I'd be willing to pay for some training and or trade computer support clean up in return ( i am a computer wiz), but, not so on scanners any more.

again my knowledge is Zero on the tool and process and terminology. would anyone be interested in teaching me... my brain is still a bit fried from cancer treatments, and reading the manual did not help me near enough... i am in the Elliot / Dobson area if anyone is interested, please let me know... no rush, but a willing student... thanks, Bob

Are you using the GRECOM software for this radio? It is a little tricky at first, but once you figure it out, it works like a charm.

Before you do anything, make sure that you update the library, so that you have the most current information from RadioReference.

You'll have to load the RWC TRS system in the radio in order to hear the Chandler PD comms.

There is a very simple way to load the assocated TRS' in the Chandler area via the library import and indicating that you want the city of Chandler.

That will give you more than the Chandler PD, but you can always lock out what you don't want to hear .

I am running the PC Software for the PSR-800, latest version, and updated CPU and device firmware. so latest and greatest of everything at this point and updated the Library.

I'll dig in and see if i can find the RWC TRS system you speak of. I am close, don't remember seeing RWC TRS but I'll go through all the tabs again. thanks so much.. will update you soon. Bob.

ok, feeling a bit less stupid, Regional Wireless system, trunked radio systems... duh.. ok. think i may have gotten it to the scanner, will know after copy is done.. lots of options not sure if i need to enable something or not, gloabal, digital etc etc.... getting there,.... Bob

How did it go? I made a simple, sample of the Chandler area using the "Library Import" option and started to separate some things out in the scan lists ...

Since you have the latest update on the software, you can load this in your software by selecting "Restore from Archive" under the File dropdown.

Hope it works out for you. You'll need to tweak it for what you want to listen to, but all of the frequencies imported are in the "Chandler" area.

The file is too large for the forum, so I will see if I can PM the file to you.

I'm a mile south of Bob and I too can't get Chandler PD to show up on my PRO106. I am using the newest data from RR database but it is still not coming in. Other services on the RWC TRS are coming in just fine. What should I look for?
