I just ordered a Uniden BC92XLT, I got it for a nice price and I feel that it's a great radio to start scanning with.
I'm primarily interested in Aviation and had a few questions:
1) What types of communication can I receive on my Uniden? (the most interesting stuff please, i.e. Fire Dept. Airport Towers, etc...) I know I cannot receive LAPD for example because they are encrypted and you would need a digital radio.
2) I already know that I can tune into LAX tower, SoCal departure, etc. But what OTHER aircraft related frequencies can I monitor?
3) What are some recommendations/suggestions from members here for interesting things to listen to in Beverly Hills / West Hollywood / Hollywood area using this particular scanner?
Some general guidance and advice of what to do when I get it would be much appreciated.
