I'll see what I can do for ya in the morning for a P97 file. They just got a new license but pretty sure it'll all be DMR along with some analog

Sorry to poke at ya, but coming from CA and landing in Stone Co. ya got me wondering......

Where else didja research moving to?? Heber Springs may be more your speed....just more DMR, but way more to listen to. The damsite traffic can be pretty entertaining on AWIN.

@bubbaearle were you able to locate a P97 for Stone County?

Check your messages for a list of frequencies.....

My Win97 & Win500 have both apparently died and will not let me enter my user key. I reckon Don Starr is no longer supporting them any longer so they can't "phone home" for key verification.

Yes, Don has left the internet and no longer support any of the Win scanner software.

Not much to listen to ?
Ever try aero? Specifically, military aero?

You are sitting between two refueling tracks,
(actually four if you have a yagi antenna),
not to mention multiple training areas.

Listening to T-38 Talons doing war game maneuvers at 700 knots makes me feel like I'm almost there.
No, it's not every day. But when you catch a two and a half hour mission between three birds, one being a bogey, and it goes on for a full 160 minutes solid, it holds you over until the next great catch. I caught this just last week, just on my whip antenna, on a handheld. They were about 150 miles out. I believe Talons have better radio equipment than say a K-35.
I'm in Mountain Home, Ar.

PS. It shows me as a new user, but I've been coming here at RR for decades, just lost access to my previous account.

A month or so back I caught a B-52 out of Barksdale AFB flying north over central AR on his way to meet up with a KC-135 out of Scott AFB for a link up on AR-112 westbound. I could see them on ADS-B Exchange and hear them on the AR-112 frequencies. Makes for a good day to monitor traffic like that.

I also monitor the C-130's out of Little Rock all the time doing training drops on Blackjack Mtn all the time, they fly over my house on their turn south back to Little Rock.

Mountain View has fewer aircraft overflying than any place I've ever been. Except for a couple of weeks in August while I made a mad dash to Arizona to look at a house, I've lived here since mid June. And in that time I have seen ONE commercial airline contrail overhead, and have heard the sound of a commercial airline on two occasions. I've also seen 4 small aircraft, which presumably flew out of our tiny local airstrip. This is so far out it isn't even flyover country. I've seen more possum than aircraft. ;)

It's also a TV and AM radio desert. I don't really watch TV, but as I was setting up the entertainment center I had the ChannelMaster OTA DVR scan for channels. It found 4, all of which were the same PBS station. None of them came in clearly. And upon rescannig it never found them again. So... .no TV. No daytime AM radio. No aircraft. The police, sheriff and fire are all encrypted. Though I did hear voice in the clear on the police or sheriff channel one day. Followed soon after by digital noise.

The only thing of any regularity is water pressure information on 154.062.500. And that's just a digital squeal.

So.... we're definitely out there. And that's why I moved here, so I have no excuse to complain. It's a beautiful part of the country.
