Newbie looking for help

hello all,

i am new to the hobby and bought a bc246t with my xmas money. i am
trying to program in the system around here but just cant seem to
get it to work. i live in victoria, bc, canada and i am trying to
scan the CREST system
(Trunking System, , - Scanner Frequencies) which is a
motorola type II smartzone. i have programed a EDACS system in
ottawa perfectly when i was visiting there, but just cant get this
to work. is there anything that is specific to motorola smartzone
systems that i am missing? let me know if i need to clarify
anything, all help is appreciated thanks in advance!!

Program it as a Motorola VHF system, and be sure to enter the band plan.

Note, however, that Victoria PD appears to be using P25 channels, so you won't be able to monitor them on the BC246T.
