newbie needs info

happy new year folks



i got a pro162 scanner for christmas

now here is my question, i worked for a trucking company in wood dale il .
and i just got layed OFF they used nextel with motorola radios. is there any way i can listen in on the dispatch radios to see how business is going. also i applied for a job with r& l carriers in elgin is there anyway i cud listen to their dispatch radios. any advise on this wud be greatly appreciated

I don't think but I am not going to swear on it, that you can hear Nextel communications via a scanner, and doing so would be illegal as it would be considered phone conversations.

No on Nextel, if you had the exact name of the new trucking company you could try looking them up on the FCC web site and try getting there freqys....Check out what type antennas are on there trucks , may be able to find there freqy area??....If you have a scanner with "CloseCall" , when they transmit and your near them it would record it...
