How does one get the the Talkgroup ID? I know they're listed in the "Data" of the download, but they don't show up in my Frequency Editor. Can I simply enter them manually?

I have found some the same Alpha Tag with different IDs.
I have uploaded what apprears to be corrent info for Bloomington, mn; Apple Valley, MN; and Burnsville, MN, but only the Bloomington will work and I live in between AV and Burns.
Looking at other info that several have sent me, they match what I have, but won't work.

I've downloaded all of them from RR, but AV and Bruns don't seem to work, but Bloomington does.
Old info?
Incorrect frequencies?

Id say if you have them all in there from 4300 to at least 4412 and have your wildcard going i cant see how you can miss....

I agree, it all should be working, but it isn't.

I still don't understand the wildcard.
Where should it be...how do I find it?
How do I get it?
How do I know if I have it?

Hi gway17

If you would, starting on the first screen of ARC500, bring up Wordpad and write each step after ID, Password and connect, so we can see if you are missing anything, I know it is a long drawn out process but this is the only way for us to see if there is something that you are leaving out.

No problem at all........

After name and password
Select State
County
Click the yellow Trunked Systems button
Now, Trunk System line just below County becomes active and ARMER Project 25 is selected
Data tab is already active and both columns are populated.
I select Dakota Co simulcast in the left col.
In the right column, I select desired Dakota Cty – cities/operations
Then import.

I'll see if I can send a screen shot or two.

What is downloaded........attached
Sorry for the cumbersome way I did this.

Are the frequencies that are downloaded considered wildcard frequencies?

This is a Wildcard line, you can only have this and you would not need TG's, this would haul in whatever/all TG's that are affiliated on Dakota Co site at that particular moment in time

I see nothing wrong with your process as far as what you are downloading, you are getting the trunk freqs now, you are getting AV TG's, they are associated with your trunk system.

The couple of AV TG's that you have in your example may not get all that much use if any. Keep in mind your FIRE and PD is dispatched on these:

4300 10cc D DK PD 1 Police Main 1 Law Dispatch
4302 10ce D DK PD 2 Police Main 2 Law Dispatch
4304 10d0 D DK PD 3 Police Main 3 Law Dispatch

4200 1068 D DK FIRE EST Fire East Main Fire Dispatch
4202 106a D DK FIRE WST Fire West Main Fire Dispatch
4204 106c D DK FGR 4 Dakota County Fireground 4 Fire-Tac
4206 106e D DK FGR 5 Dakota County Fireground 5 Fire-Tac
4208 1070 D DK FGR 6 Dakota County Fireground 6 Fire-Tac
4210 1072 D DK FGR 7 Dakota County Fireground 7 Fire-Tac
4212 1074 D DK FGR 8 Dakota County Fireground 8 Fire-Tac
4236 108c D DK SM OP2 South Metro SSP & WSP Fire Ops 2 Fire-Tac
4260 10a4 D DK SM OP3 South Metro Fire Ops 3 (SSP/WSP) Fire-Tac

I do not know how "busy" Dakota is, I have heard the DK PD 1-3 frequently driving through the area, but its not as busy as say Hennepin dispatches.

Thank you for looking at it !
Many of the DkCty PD frequencies seem to cover the Hastings area with some Brunsville thrown in. Bloomington is well covered too.
I tried to follow everyone's ideas/suggestions and after "redoing/reloading" things seem to have improved a lot. I'll just have to keep working it.
I'll work on the MN Hwy Partol frequencies next.

I'm just thankful to all of you for hanging in there with me and helping.
I now have a working unit !

Its a hobby
I constantly mess with my scan lists, but I travel 5 states regularly so its fun for me on the road.

State Police is usually relatively busy 6am to 10 pm sometimes more, should give you good test of "is it really working LOL"

Yes, all the programming you want in your scanner has to be done in one upload (file) and you can have conventional and trunked systems in it.

Keep in mind da northwoods eh, isn't a ARMER rich environment as it is in the Metro. I spent a week just west of Ely This summer, didn't hear any ARMER for a week. Did in Virginia (town) on the way home. Mostly State Police if memory serves me correctly. Spent a week at Itasca State park the summer before and ARMER was sporadic there, but it might better now, they are making the move to ARMER up there
