Hello:

New at this.

What is the "official" range for the normal, non-mil, aircraft monitoring frequencies ?
Is it 118 to 137 MHz, or does it start at 108 ?

The same question, please for Military Air Monitoring ?

Thanks,
Bob

In addition, many National Guard and Air National Guard groups use freqs in the 138-144 mhz range For the most part - the Blue Angels are an exception to the rule here - transmissions are in AM.

If you tune in the 380-390 Mhz area and hear what sounds like trunking data, you're quite right; many fed and mil bases are setting up trunk systems in this range. The 396 and 996 are the only current scanners that can trunk in this band.
