WS1088: newbie question

I got my 1088 a few days ago (First scanner I have ever owned) After I got it programmed I can hear a lot of what is going on. My question is...some of what I hear is encrypted (I think) all I hear is a busy signal on some channels like when you call some one on a land line. Is there any way possible to get around this?

Yes, a busy signal means encrypted. There's no way to decrypt it, but you can remove that talk group in you're programming or lock it out so it's ignored.
