Is the Arc500 pro the better software for programming?

ARC500 Pro adds logging capabilities. If you just want to program a scanner, ARC500 Basic is all you need. That is what I use.

Look at the MODE column.


FM - Wide Band FM - Analog
FMN - Narrow Band FM - Analog
P25 - P25 Digital -Non Trunked (WS 1040 capable)
DMR - Digital Mobile Radio (Mototurbo) - Digital (WS 1040 not capable of monitoring)

E suffix - full-time encryption
e suffix - part-time encryption

Win500 is great....if ya can get a key.
PSREdit is good too, almost on par with WIN500 - but that's just my opinion. To each his own I reckon.

Looks as if you can hear most of what's in your area with your 1040 with the exception of the DMR.
