Newbie saying hello

I just wanted my first post here to be a hello to all the active members here who, from what I've seen by reading and searching posts/threads for the past few hours, make this the place to be for our little hobby.

I want to give a special thank you to my friends at Lentini Communications over in Newington, CT for turning me onto this site (thanks Bob). I just made the leap to new technology today, buying a Uniden BC246T (which Bob promptly upgraded to the new firmware) and the BuTel software. I'm just waiting for the batteries to charge before learning the programming process to this new scanner. I currently still use my Realistic PRO-2006 and my Uniden BC-200XLT daily, but figured it was time to look for an upgrade.

I'm looking forward to hopefully helping some, and learning from all.

You might want to look up your home town and see if you can put in some more information that will help other like you. This board is supported by listners so your help is greatly appreciated.
