Whats up all.
I was intruduced to this crazy world of freqs :hehe: by a friend of mine and i find it fasanating, im going to pick up a scanner soon, dont know what, but im getting one.
I have been searching the site to find LAs CHP PD Sheiffs freqs but most of the link i find dont work.
can somone post any info on LA freqs
Correct me if im wrong but I shouldnt need a trunked style scanner for most of LA.

Welcome to the world of scanning. If you look on the left hand side of the home page of this site you'll see a link that says "RR Database" with a arrow pointing to it. If you click on that, a map of the USA will come up. Click on California and away you go!

You are correct you do not need a trunking scanner for the LAPD, you do however need a digital scanner(which all come with trunking!) You will need one of the following digital scanners:

Uniden:

BC-250 with digital card
BC-785 with digital card
BC-296D comes with card
BC-796D comes with card

Radio Shack:

Pro-96

All sell for around $500.... Hopes this helps you

I have a BC250D with the card and love I pick up all LAPD and Sheriff I live in lancaster and have no complaints with the unit stick with uniden products well tested and proven.

may i suggest a digital scanner. you can still hear stuff with a non digital scanner but you won't be able to receive the digital freqs (they sound like a fax machine or something).

if you don't find the frequencies you want on this site, then try google.
