Help please. Ijust bought a pro96 scanner from the states. I programed all my frequencies in the banks, including opp fleetnet and bunch of other edacs systems. Everything was working great, i was very happy. Till i went into the v-folders, now im stuck there and cant get out to my regular freqencies. Everytime i turn on my scanner it comes up welcome to digital trunking IL-MI-LN (ILLINIOS, michigan,ect) Only scans that v-folder went through the manual a bunch of times cant figure out how to turn it off. And get back into scanning my locals. Hope i didnt lose the whole sh-bang. Any help would be appreciated on this. :roll:

If you had programed your prefered freq into the working memory and then loaded from the v folder. (it sounds like you did) then you have lost it all unless you saved your work in another v folder before you loaded the one for il mi or whatever. I did the same thing myself. You will have to reprogram every thing i suggest that you save it in the v file 11 which is the decimal key

Sorry for getting back so late i was at work. But anyhow this is what i did. When i got the pro96 when it arrived i turned it on and loaded all my frequencies in it for my area. From the factory version, the get go, it said on the screen at that time welcome to digital trunking. But then i went into the v-folders and tried loading the programs from the book like IL-MI-LN meaning Illionios, Michigan. Now when i turn it on it says welcome to digital trunking IL-MI-LN. And scans that only. Im trying to go back to when i first turned it on and loaded those other frequencies, but ive tried everything with no sucesss. I miss monitoring my local frequencies. Need help to get this thing back to the way it use to be when it first arrived and hopefully those frequencis are still there. Any help on this would be appreciated. :?:

Well im out of the v-folders now, wiped everything out. pressed o then 1 just like the back of the manual said to do and returned me to factory memory but i lost everyting all my hard work. Ithink i will stay out of that till i figure it out dont want to do that again, so here i start from scatch again, lot of punching in the frequencies, least ill be an expert at that. Thanks for the help though.

Just remember that what ever you have in your working memory must be saved in a v file before you load from a v file or else you will lose it . pgm. func. pgm. will take you to the v file menu press 1 to save then choose a file number from 0 -- 9 or the decimal key once you load the working memory it doesnt matter what name is on the v file that can be changed while in working memory by pressing pgm func text. One of the things that make this scanner the best on the market in my humble opinion is the v files. I travel the country for work and once i enter a diferent province it is as simple as hitting a couple of buttons and i have the entire new province in there, also remember that 0 1 enter only clears and resets the working memory and does not affect the v files.

Hey peteman,

Glad to hear that you have that pro 96 all figured out now and your folders programmed up.

Question is, How is the scanner working on the different systems that you are monitoring in your travels? How are they sounding the various digital systems?

I travel the country for work and once i enter a diferent province it is as simple as hitting a couple of buttons and i have the entire new province in there, also remember that 0 1 enter only clears and resets the working memory and does not affect the v files.

Since you say you wiped all the stuff you had programmed why not try like Peterman said and see if maybe you had your settings saved in the scratchpad.

Try this

press pgm-func-pgm
press 2 for load
press the decimal key then press enter then enter again.

If you change your mind then just press the clr key and it will cancel for you.

Well, Manitoba is a really good listen strong coverage it seems that 2 or more towers on different sites will broad cast all tgs within that area, police3 are all digital with the exception of brandon lots of action in that town. also wps general dipatch, altona, and i believe thats it. not a lot of encription which is a good thing



Saskatchewan has a saskfleet system that is edacs regular but i dont have all channels for all sites there are seven in use throughout the province,



Nova Scotia is a really good clear listen lots of sites police are digital with the exception Halifax police.




Saskatoon is an action packedlisten the police there are just hopping man. The most overworked K9 unit i have ever heard more than toronto even.
