Newbie with a problem

Firstly I am not a Radio Ham, only an Airband listener. I have just purchased a PCR1500 to run alongside my Kinetic SBS-1. It is replacing two geriatric AOR AR2002s. The problem I have is that I cannot get the SCAN function to work. I have programmed 5 frequencies into Bank 0 in memories 0 to 4. I then followed the instructions in the manual, right-click MEMO in the SCAN Control, set current bank to Bank 00, ticked SEL and Mode SEL, ticked AM, then closed Window. I then left-clicked memo and nothing happens {I should get a flashing MEMO but I dont!}.

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?
