Newbie with BC-246T

I'm still learning about my 3 day-old scanner and have a question which doesn't seem to be covered in the manual. While receiving conventional transmissions, the audio cuts out every three or four words-just long enough to miss a word. I've set my Motorola P1225 and my old BC60XLT next to the scanner and they don't cut out. Any ideas? Thanks for taking the trouble to reply!

Very common first question, you have one of the following turned on, Priority, Close Call, Search, or Weather. If it's about every 2 sec it's one of the first 3 if it's every 5 it's weather.
