newbie with psr-200

Hi, I am very new to the scanner world, i just got a Grecom psr-200. Have gone throught tons of searching
but getting very little to listen to. I believe I cant receive my local police, but should get ambulance, fire, etc.
I am wondering if i am supposed to program it somehow? Or do i have to find the exact frequecies
and put them in manually? Also, I am just using the antenna that came with it, should I
get a better antenna??

Can someone maybe just send me a link to find out how to get the most out of my scanner,
I am getting very little to listen to, but like i said, not sure if maybe i need better antenna, or to program my scanner properly?
Any help would be appreciated

The PSR-200 is a basic analog conventional scanner. It will not receive digital nor track trunked systems which just about includes everything these days.
