Let me preface this with any lingo or technical jargon I get incorrect is because I have had a scanner for a total of 4 hours, and have been reading to try to figure out what I need to know before blindly asking questions.
I'm currently in Galena, and happen to have picked up a PRO-2096, and I figured I'd see what was local as far as trunked systems. I noticed when scanning through the 800mhz ranges, that there were two frequencies (866.375, and 866.900) which had a pattern being transmitted. I figured these were trunk control frequencies. The first one, no matter what I set the trunk mode to (EDACS or Motorola) says nothing, however, when I'm in 'Manual mode' and I'm looking at the 866.900 frequency, there's a readout which is confusing to me. It repeats the following on the last line of the display:
'96:BEE00 99%'
'96:T0127 99%'
'96:SY140 99%'
When I go into scan mode, I hear nothing, and I don't see any Talkgroup IDs transmitting. That is what I suspect should happen. So, my three questions are:
1) What do those 3 lines mean?
2) Do I appear to have a basic understanding of what I'm doing? If not, please correct me.
3) Because I'm not hearing anything, is it something I've done wrong, or is this site just inactive?
Thank you!
