I'll start monitoring those frequencies to see if they are using dmr. As of a few days ago I was still hearing traffic on the regular fire channel.

I can tell you for a fact that Newton county has not switched to DMR just yet. I am a dispatcher with Newton county and also help with care and troubleshooting of the radio systems in our county. Our intentions are to switch to DMR but not as of yet. I'm not sure on the date. The fire association is the group tasked with deciding when. We have the equipment besides the handhelds/mobiles for each fire department. We have two mobiles connected to our Raytheon ACU bridging system already. Everything is still analog on the fire/ems end.
