Looking for a footswitch to ptt. Either use existing mic or a mounted mic. Have looked at some bluetooth in ear ptt, but operator needs to hear machine.

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

You can do external PTT using the rear 25 pin connector using one of the auxiliary I/O pins. Pretty much any foot switch you can find would work.

So the footswitch connects to the connector in back of radio and forces the radio itself to ptt. The mic would stay connected to original port. Is their footswitches made with the right connector or have to make own? Thanks for your help

Not sure if anyone makes a premade version, but it's simple to do yourself. DB-25 male connectors are cheap. 2 pins for PTT and programming.
As for the microphone, it can use the hand mic, but unless that is very close to the operator, it's going to sound crappy. An after market boom mic would be a good option.
