I've been monitoring a networked NEXEDGE48 system in my area. There are eleven sites, of which I can monitor about half. The one closest to me is fairly new and doesn't have a lot of activity. It seems to operate as a composite channel.

The issue I've run in to is that while DSD-CC will track the TG activity, I hear no voice on DSD-VC. Where there is activity, the DSD-CC Activity Window shows the TG, Alias, RIDs, but does not show the Channel number. Information does not appear to be sent to FMP24-VC, so the frequency is not generated and DSD-VC does not process the audio.

All of the other sites that I can monitor (which are not composite channel), work as they should, it's just this one that misbehaves.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

You shouldn't have to guess. The SRV_INFO messages always announce whether CompCC is in effect.

You keep writing "Activity Window" despite there being no such window. The channel activity window displays all of those details, including channel number, during NEXEDGE voice on control traffic.

Information does not appear to be sent to FMP24-VC, so the frequency is not generated and DSD-VC does not process the audio.
The voice traffic is on the control channel and the CC copy of DSD+ is already monitoring it, so the CC copy synthesizes the voice audio.

I've tried this on live sites as well as just now on a raw CC recording and I hear the voice traffic just fine.

Thanks. Actually, I figured it out. I had an extra (.) on the line with that frequency. It was right after the sort order. Once I removed that, it worked fine.

It is in fact working as a composite channel and doing exactly what it should.

You told me that there is no activity window, then in the next line you talk about the activity window.

What the program is doing in this case is causing FMP24-VC to synthesize the correct frequency, and DSD+-VC is producing the audio. I have DSD-CC set up was -o0, so that audio is muted on that side.

You shouldn't have to guess. The SRV_INFO messages always announce whether CompCC is in effect.
