So I own three UHF NEXEDGE radios, and I'm very happy with them. Though, I don't think I'm fully utilizing all the features of NEXEDGE. Keep in mind it's all going to be simplex operation. I don't have a NXR.

Can someone explain individual, and group calling? Also explain anything else that I can do with them, utilizing NEXEDGE. Just trying to get all my moneys worth.

My understanding is this, to use this analogy, Individual Call is like calling another person on the cell phone. Its a private between the two users.
Group call, still using the telephone analogy, would be like a conference call where you would call many people. Everyone with that group in their radio would hear your traffic.

Exactly. This is a common thing on trunked systems, setting up private calls, or doing the group thing.

You might want to play around with the short data side of things, set up some simple text messaging between the radios, etc.

You will need to program your radios to allow "status" function on one of the keys. Pressing that button will allow you to select from a list of pre-made messages or enter your own using SDM (short data message mode). Once you have the message entered, hitting the PTT key will send the message.

You can also program them to status on power on and/or power off. You can remote stun/kill a radio if you want.
There are several pages of this in the in-depth manuals. I'd suggest seeing if you can get a copy of that from your dealer. Way too much for me to post here.
