NexGen Radio system

The city of Garland,Texas now uses a 800 trunking system,but has just started useing a system called NexGen for its data system,and says that in 2005 it will go to voice,and stop the use of the 800 system for public saftey.Has anyone heard of this type of system and if so can it be scanned.

According to some of the posts on the dfwscan list it doesn't work very well and has poor coverage.
Putting a public safety system in the 2.4 GHz (or any other) ISM/Amateur/Junk band is a big mistake if you ask me.
